Original owner cars

Pretty cool that there were two original owner A12's there this weekend.
Jim G. with an R4 Road Runner, your family did some fantastic work getting the car prepared in such a short amount of time. To think that you put steel fenders back on, painted the whole car, installed chrome bumpers and a six pack is amazing.

Then Bob K. with his R4 Bee with original paint is pretty special and a great guy.

I talked with another gentleman over the weekend that is an original owner of a K2 Road Runner, he will be sending me info soon.

Dave, this weekend made my parents hole year. Ever since Gary (gtsuperbee) told my dad at the Norwalk Chrysler Classic 2008, about the reunion they couldn't wait for july to get here.  My dad even had some HOOTERVILLE EXPRESS decals made for the doors, just for the reunion but decided not to put them on. And he just had to dig the carbs out of hybernation, and stick them on.  That was a great show, and we met some very nice people. Thanks Jimmy

Jimmy, nice to meet you and your parents at the show. Your dad was grinning from ear to ear the whole time. The documentation display was cool too, not many original owner cars anymore. The paint work you did was VERY nice, great job.

I'm glad you had a great time.  I saw them interviewing you.  What was that all about?  Are they going to race it with the six pack for a little while just to mix it up a bit?  The car looked fantastic.  It was probably kind of nice not to have to wrench on it all weekend.  I bet a ton of people talked your ears off.  That's what makes it all worth it.

The interview was for the celebrity pick award, they said the video would be on there web site in a week or so. And dad did say he like to take the car to Quaker maybe next friday nite with the carbs on it. It was nice to take a weekend off from racing and being on the go, even though I broke a connecting rod in my 64 fury, I just stand at the starting line and watch my wife and my mom kick butt. It was very much worth it, but the weekend went to fast, it needed to be a couple days longer.

The gentleman bought the Rallye Green Runner 25 years ago for $5000. The seller was asking $3500 for it but he showed up at the same time as another buyer and they had an auction in the driveway Grin
He said he was too busy working to drive the car but in has always been indoors in a climate controlled garage.
Car pretty much looked brand spanking new!

Not an A12 but there was an original owner 1969 A4 Hemi Superbee with a parchment interior in the SME judging worth mentioning. It had one repaint. Gary probably noticed it because it had American mags and was day 2 modified. HE DROVE IT TO THE SHOW FROM GEORGIA! He was just a very nice guy who loved his car. I thought it was impressive first, because of it being a one owner and second, for driving it to the show and being in the SME judging to boot.

Yeah, I saw the hemi bee.  There were actually four 69 hemi bees there this year.  That is my dream car.  Someday maybe.  If not, my hemi R/T will have to suffice.  The tail lights just aren't as good looking as a bee's.
