I recommend using the Eastwood zinc phosphate paint for your rear springs. I took mine apart, blasted them, painted them and installed new clamps. I left the clamps natural but painted them with a clear satin. See the previous photo. I think the Eastwood gave the springs the look that I wanted (I didn't want them to look painted).

Transmission mount ? I know the e bodys are yellow....

Here's what I "think" they are:

I'll begin and please just add to the list (or correct):

Front backing plates............ Zinc phosphate (Eastwood has it in a spray)
Rear backing plates............. Zinc Phosphate
Dana housing..................... Semi-flat black all over (there's no 3rd member)
Lower control arms.............. Cosmoline or goldish like the Holley Carbs
Upper control arms.............. natural or silver'ish
Rear springs....................... Natural Black from heat treating or black painted
Rear front spring hangers...... plain steel with undercoating sprayed from outside
Rear shackles......................natural plain steel
U Bolts & hardware ..............natural
Shock plates.......................black painted
Sway bar.......................... natural/(black heat treated look)
Sway bar brackets.............. Black painted
Sway bar links and bolts.......Zinc phosphate
Front Struts.......................natural steel more silver than blackened
Shocks..............................Gloss Black
Master cylinder...................Natural cast iron
Master cylinder cover........... yellow gold plated
Master cyl backing plate....... Gloss Black
Engine brackets...................
PS Pump............................
Spark plug wire separators and brackets
Fan...................................
K-Frame............................
Brake drums.......................
Emerg. Brake Cables.............
Torsion Bars....................... dipped in gloss black
Trans cross member............ dipped in gloss black
Transmission mount.............
Tie Rod ends......................
Steering link...................... Natural with a turquoise longitudinal inspection drip
Radiator......I like gloss black engine paint but you might want to go with underhood black

Coop, yes I will post some over in the 'New' project car section....but Dave hasn't given the car a name yet so I will wait for him to start a new thread.

I wasn't planning on doing an over-the-top resto like some of the other guys, I just want a nice driver that has the correct parts on it. But as per usual, where do you stop?

How do you know if the corrections are correct? There are several expert articles ala Roger Gibson in Mopar Action, etc. We could end up with egg on our face here? Let's include photos of everything.

Great stuff, oderless, invisible residue, does wash off if you are caught in the rain but easy to reapply. I have had no rust starting on my natural metal parts while using this stuff.
